Before moving to the USA, I worked in children's television. More specifically, I worked on television programs dedicated to encouraging children to think as creatively as possible. It was my job to invent the different craft projects demonstrated in front of the cameras by our presenters. For example, how to make a jelly fish wind chime with a yogurt pot, some pasta, string and lots of papier-mâché, or, how about making not just any old birthday card using bits of sponge and other cleaning items? It's amazing what you can make with the things you might normally put in the recycling. It was a terrific job, and not only did I learn a lot, but I enjoyed it immensely.
I have since gone on to utilise what I learned during those years, in combination with my professional arts training, to create workshops and classes in local schools and art centers such as Brentwood Art Center, and ArtCenter Kids in Pasadena, CA.
I thoroughly enjoy running art workshops and classes for children. I offer classes and activities based on my books, as well as creative workshops and classes based on a range of different themes, easily catered to the needs of the class. If you are interested in having me at your school, studio or private event, please don't hesitate to get in touch.
